आज उसकी salary ₹11 lakh से बढ़कर ₹22 lakh हो गई है। Double। पर उसका SIP? वही ₹5,000/month।

"Chalo, kuch toh chal raha hai," वो बोलता है। पर जब हमने calculator खोला — जो SIP उसने started किया था, अगर वो हर साल salary के साथ सिर्फ 10% बढ़ाता, तो 20 साल बाद उसके पास ₹50 lakh के बजाय ₹1 crore होता।

Salary hike mile, 3 step karo us din hi

Yeh practical drill है जो मैं अपने mentees को बताता हूँ। जिस दिन salary hike confirm हो:

Step 1: Old SIP 10% badhao immediately. Kal nahi, aaj. Agar ₹5,000 था, ₹5,500 kar do.

Step 2: Lifestyle upgrade ka 50% SIP mein daal do. Maano hike ₹5,000/month ki mili. ₹2,500 lifestyle (Swiggy upgrade, better phone, etc), ₹2,500 SIP mein. Is tarah "new SIP" aur start karo ya existing SIP bump up karo.

Step 3: Emergency fund check karo. Agar emergency fund 6 months expenses ka nahi hai, toh pehle wahan daal do. Emergency fund kya hai padh lo agar unclear hai. SIP crore banata hai, emergency fund apko bankrupt hone se bachata hai. Dono zaruri hain.

Common 5 galtiyan (mujhe khud se seekhi hain)

1. Step-up lagaya par fund hi galat tha। 10% step-up bhi bekar hai agar tum 5% return dene wale debt fund mein kar rahe ho. Large cap / flexi cap / index funds for long-term equity SIP.

2. Step-up percentage bahut zyada rakh diya (20%+)। 3-4 साल baad realize hua "yeh toh afford nahi hai." SIP stop kar diya. Better to stay at 10% aur sustain 20 साल।

3. Step-up sirf karne ke liye kiya, asset allocation review nahi kiya। Age 45 hai par 100% equity SIP चल रहा है 10% step-up के साथ. Market crash mein sleep nahi आएगा. Gold vs SIP aur portfolio balance ka concept zaruri।
