📖 Iss Kitab Ke Baare Mein
The Art of War (Chinese: 孫子兵法 Sūnzǐ bīngfǎ) Sun Tzu ka attributed treatise hai jo lagbhag 5th century BCE mein likha gaya — yaani Mahabharat ke roughly thoda baad ka time. 13 chapters mein wo war ka har aspect cover karte hain: estimations, waging war, planning offensives, military disposition, forces, weaknesses & strengths, maneuvering, terrain, fire attacks, aur intelligence operations.
But yeh book sirf army officers ke liye nahi hai. Sun Tzu ka asli genius yeh tha ki unhone war ko ek 'cost-heavy mistake' bataya — 'prolonged warfare erodes the state faster than the enemy ever could'. Matlab — yudh karna padhega to karo, par pehle har possible non-violent option try karo. Diplomacy, economic pressure, deception se kaam ho jaaye to weapon nikalne ki zaroorat nahi.
India mein iska influence Chanakya Niti aur Arthashastra ke saath compare hota hai — dono mein same era ka strategy thinking hai, par Sun Tzu ka focus tighter aur military-specific hai. Hindi translation Manjul aur Prabhat dono ne publish ki hain, aur corporate gifting list mein top par rehti hai. IIM Bangalore aur ISB ke strategy electives mein yeh required reading hai. Sports world mein Bill Belichick (New England Patriots — 6 Super Bowl wins) ne credit diya hai, Brazilian football coach Luiz Felipe Scolari ne 2002 World Cup ke pehle apni team ko passages padhe.
Core frameworks: (1) 'Know yourself, know your enemy — 100 battles, 100 wins'. (2) 'All warfare is based on deception' — strong dikho jab weak ho, weak dikho jab strong ho. (3) 'Supreme excellence is to subdue the enemy without fighting'. (4) 5 factors: Moral law, Heaven (weather), Earth (terrain), Commander, Method & discipline. Aur har chapter mein concrete tactical advice — formation, terrain types, spy networks ka 5-type classification (local, internal, converted, doomed, surviving).
Why India still reads it: kyunki India ka own strategic literature (Mahabharat, Arthashastra, Chanakya Niti) abundant hai par scattered. Sun Tzu compact, 100-page, organized hai. Ek hi sitting mein revolution kar sakta hai aapki thinking mein.
