🤔 To-Do List Kya Hai?
To-do list shayad insaan ki sabse purani productivity tool hai — Benjamin Franklin ne 1726 mein daily 13-virtue checklist banayi thi, Leonardo da Vinci ke notebooks mein 1490s ke to-do lists hain. Lekin modern era mein hum to-do list ka original concept totally bhool gaye — yeh 'task storage' nahi hai, yeh 'priority decision' hai.
Indian context mein to-do list ka galat use widespread hai. Log subah ek list banate hain — 25 items. Dopahar tak 8 complete hote hain. Sham tak 5 aur add ho jaate hain. Raat ko net list 22 hai. Brain feels overwhelmed, productivity feels minus, agla din phir 25 items. Yeh 'busy lekin productive nahi' wala loop bahut common hai.
Real to-do list 3 hi kategori mein todti hai: Must (aaj zaroori), Should (jaldi karna chahiye), Could (kabhi karna chahiye). David Allen ke 'Getting Things Done' (GTD) framework mein iska sophisticated version hai — Inbox, Next Actions, Projects, Someday/Maybe. Lekin even simpler version kaam karta hai — Ivy Lee method 1918 ka hai aur aaj bhi valid — 'raat ko 6 tasks likho importance order mein, agle din top se shuru, ek complete na hone tak doosra mat chuho'.
Log sochte hain to-do list ek 'memory aid' hai. Yeh secondary purpose hai. Primary purpose — 'decision force karna'. Jab aap 6 tasks ko priority order mein likhte ho, aap khud ko force karte ho ki '#1 kaun sa hai?' yeh decide karein. Yahi cognitive exercise asli value hai. Saal mein 365 baar yeh exercise = decision-making skill master.
Tools matter karte hain par low priority hain. Paper diary, Apple Notes, Notion, Todoist, Things 3, TickTick — ya bas index card. Tool agar friction zyada deta hai (login, sync, complicated UI), aap use nahi karoge. Sabse simple jo aapko comfortable lage — wahi best hai. Tool selection mein 1 hafta waste karne wala apni list pe hi atak gaya.
