Growth mindset ka matlab yeh nahi hai ki aap 'positive thinking' karein ya khud ko har baat mein achha bolein. Carol Dweck ne 30 saal ki research ke baad Stanford mein yeh prove kiya — har insaan do mindsets mein se kisi ek mein operate karta hai. Fixed mindset wala maanta hai 'main aisa hi hoon, badal nahi sakta' — talent, intelligence, character sab pre-decided. Growth mindset wala maanta hai 'main kuch bhi seekh sakta hoon agar mehnat aur sahi technique laga doon'.
India mein yeh discussion bohot zaroori hai kyunki hamari poori education system fixed mindset pe khadi hai. Class mein bachpan se hi sunte aaye hain — 'yeh ladka science topper hai', 'iska maths kabhi nahi aayega', 'tu humanities ke liye banaa hai'. 10th class mein 70% aaye toh 12 saal tak woh tag chipka rehta hai. Joint family bhi yahi karti hai — 'beta tujhse nahi hoga', 'ladkiyon ka dimag aisa hota hai', 'humare khaandaan mein business nahi karte'. Yeh sab fixed mindset ki sentences hain.
Growth mindset ek aisi default soch hai jisme har challenge ek 'data point' hai, har failure ek 'feedback' hai, aur har skill 'plastic' hai — yani neuroplasticity ke through banti hai.
