🤔 Paramilitary Personnel Kya Hai?
Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) — popularly 'paramilitary' kahe jaate hain, technically ministry of Home Affairs ke under hain (defence forces nahi). Total approximately 10 lakh personnel across 6 forces: CRPF (3.25 lakh — internal security, anti-Naxal, J&K), BSF (2.65 lakh — Pak/Bangladesh border), CISF (1.75 lakh — airports, metro, PSU security, VIP), ITBP (90,000 — China/Tibet border, high altitude), SSB (90,000 — Nepal/Bhutan border), Assam Rifles (66,000 — Northeast, dual MHA/MoD control). Plus NSG, SPG (specialized).
Recruitment: GD Constable — SSC GD CAPF exam (Class 10+), Tradesman/Driver — separate notifications, Sub-Inspector — SSC CAPF SI exam (graduation), Assistant Commandant (AC, Gazetted Group A) — UPSC CAPF AC exam. Plus Indian Police Service (IPS) deputation slots for senior leadership (IG, DG levels).
Is chat room mein hum honest baat karte hain — CRPF jawans ka Naxal area (Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand) posting jaha ambush risk roz hai; BSF border outpost mein 3 mahine duty without leave; CISF airport duty jo 'easy' lagti hai par 12-hour shifts standing rotation; ITBP ke jawan 18,000 feet pe LAC patrolling; SSB Nepal border ki softer duty. Family separation, kids ki padhai, suicide rates (CAPF mein concerning — 100+ per year reported), mental health stigma, transfer politics — sab discuss hota hai with respect. Sahaadat dene wale bhaiyon ka samman, aur jo zinda hain unke real-life challenges — dono yahan acknowledge hote hain.
